At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, first responders were called to the 400 block of West Pratt Street near South Eutaw Street to investigate a reported explosion that left several workers with injuries as they were attempting to install a gas line.
During the installation, the crew accidentally struck a water main, which exploded, leading to a chaotic scene throughout the area.
Officials say that four people were treated for injuries and three were hospitalized with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened not far from Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Sunday afternoon, hours after the home team fell to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
